SOLUTION: SOFTBRICK WFM RETAIL – ON-PREMISE

PROBLEM:
What is the best way to increase the flexibility of the staff, reduce labor costs and optimize staff and customer satisfaction?

SOLUTION
BCC uses the full retail function of Softbrick: from the standardize to remuneration. Branch managers are ensured that, based on the budgets for the wage costs, they can realize an ideal occupation. Stores may decide to what extent they see this division as leading. They convert the budget, conversion and visitor numbers.

Due to a tight project control, BCC was able to go live in three months. Kees Vogelaar: “We have used the implementation as an opportunity to also redesign the collective agreement. The system helps us establish a uniform determination of the collective agreement that gives no room to negotiate with rules. New employees need only observe how the system is used a few times with a colleague before they can do it themselves. This says a lot about the intuitive functioning of Softbrick.”

GOALS:
With the system, BCC saves 4000 man hours each year. In addition, the conversion has increased significantly as the right staff is scheduled at the right time. Previously, BCC used Excel sheets for registration and planning. HR had to print out all the individual Excel sheets and manually enter the corrections. Working with Softbrick prevents errors because there is a direct interface with the salary package of ADP.

“The overheads are going down, they are no longer working with time sheets and they are now able to plan the staffing more efficiently. The savings are especially significant on overtime and conversion has increased considerably. This is because the right manpower is scheduled at the right time” declares Kees Vogelaar.

WHAT ARE CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTORS FOR A SUCCESSFUL IMPLEMENTATION?
Kees Vogelaar gives the following advice: “First of all, you must keep control yourself. Specify a project manager with a wide margin of discretion, so the project will not be delayed. A thorough preparation is crucial. Involve several layers of the organization and let employees get used to the system. And finally, make good and frequent contact with the internal and external project leader.”

Using the ‘train the trainer’ program, BCC trained all its branch managers. “Within two or three hours the employees understood how to use the Softbrick software. The system is so easy and it’s almost impossible to do something wrong” says Kees Vogelaar. “We don’t need any more training now. New employees just have to observe how the system is used a few times with a colleague before they can do it themselves. This says a lot about the intuitive functioning of Softbrick.”
